Our Mission The mission of the USABDA-NW Formation Team is to promote Ballroom Dancing through performance. Formed in 1989, the team has performed all over the Pacific Northwest, as well as in other parts of the USA and Canada. In the Team's dozen year history, they have performed many styles of dance, including west coast and east coast swing, waltz, quickstep, Viennese waltz, foxtrot, tango, cha-cha, samba, rumba, paso-doble, and jive.
See the Team! Our teams train all year round and have routines available for performances and showcases. We are also available to present lead-and-follow ballroom, latin, and swing dancing. Recent performances include an eight-couple Viennese Waltz routine, a five-couple "Moulin Rouge" Latin routine, a "Mary Poppins" ballroom routine, and lead-and-follow showcases with live bands and orchestras at many celebrations and promotions. We're excited at every opportunity to present ballroom dancing, and you can bring the team to your event! Just contact us! Join the Team! The Formation Team has always encouraged new dancers to learn the art of performance dancing and to join in the fun! Membership on the team is available to anyone interested in improving their dance skills by training with a group for public performances. When accepting new members, the most important criteria is commitment and enthusiasm. Formation Team members are required to join USABDA within one month of joining the team. Our Sponsor and Coach The Team is sponsored by USABDA-NW, which is the Northwest Chapter of The United States Amateur Ballroom Dancer's Association. USABDA is a national non-profit dance organization whose mission is to promote ballroom dancing.
